Traverse City, MI Engagement | Alicia + Paul

“The longer we’ve been together, the easier our relationship has become. Committing to each other simply made sense.”

We can all agree that proposal stories are always fun to hear. How did he ask? What was her reaction? Did she see it coming? Some stories go according to plan, but for Alicia & Paul, “The proposal wasn’t one that either of us entirely expected.” Originally, Paul had planned to propose to Alicia on a weekend trip to Flagstaff, Arizona. But their dog, Kona, had other plans. So instead of hiking and enjoying the great outdoors together in Flagstaff, Alicia & Paul spent their entire Saturday at the vet’s office, day dreaming of how the weekend could have gone. And although his proposal plans were temporarily postponed, Paul was far from defeated and soon made arrangements for another trip to Flagstaff two weekends later. This time, however, it was the weather that intervened. When they arrived to Flagstaff, it was raining heavily. So instead of a proposal at Lowell Observatory (as Paul had originally planned), they found themselves in a movie theater packed with small children watching the Boxtrolls. Still, Paul was determined. So the next day, as the weather finally started to break, they set off for a hike. This was his chance! A little ways off the trail, Paul found a spot on a boulder that was illuminated by sunlight. And there, at that boulder, Paul asked Alicia to be his wife. And of course, she said yes!

Alicia & Paul share a love for hiking and camping in northern Arizona, but much more importantly, they share a deep love for each other. And that is very evident. Congrats on your engagement, Alicia & Paul!

Glen Arbor, MI Wedding | Jane + Andy

The quintessential Northern Michigan wedding. That’s exactly what Jane & Andy’s special day was. From the perfect weather to the breathtaking landscape and every detail in between, Jane & Andy said “I do” and entered the next exciting stage of their relationship in the presence of their family and friends in the beautiful small town of Glen Arbor, Michigan.

After spending the morning apart (making preparations for the big day, of course!), Jane & Andy could not have been more excited to finally see and be with each other. So as Jane walked down the boardwalk to her patiently waiting groom, Andy slowly turned around and laid eyes on his beautiful bride. The smiles, the emotions. These two are no doubt deeply in love with each other. From that very first look to photos with the bridal party, Jane & Andy enjoyed each other’s company and the beauty of Northern Michigan while anxiously awaiting the moment that they would become husband and wife.

And then the moment arrived! In an absolutely gorgeous mountaintop wedding ceremony, Jane & Andy exchanged vows and rings before sealing the deal with a kiss. Beautiful and perfectly tailored to this wonderful couple, it was the perfect way to for Jane & Andy to be united in marriage together.

From ceremony to reception, the celebration was just getting under way. With heartfelt (and hilarious) speeches, fantastic food, and dancing the night away, it was certainly a fun-filled evening to remember (and I can’t forget the gorgeous sunset!). Jane & Andy, being a part of your wedding was truly a privilege. I wish nothing but the best for you two. Congrats!

Glen Arbor, MI Engagement | Julia + Robert

“We spent the first nine months together, every day, every minute – and I still wanted more. She is the ying to my yang. She balances me out in every way. Every quality I do not posses – she has in abundance. I love spending time with her, and I have so much fun with her. And everything I do is always better when she is around me. She is my best friend.”

“When we first started dating, we hung out every single day after work, and it was so natural. I love having new experiences and adventures with him by my side. I can completely be myself when I’m around him, and he accepts me for everything that I am.”

Julia & Robert have it. They have what so many people search a lifetime for. And it’s beautiful.

Julia & Robert met through mutual friends at a concert in Chicago, and it wasn’t long before they both knew that they had found something special in each other. Soon the two were inseparable. And on what appeared to be a normal, random Monday night at home, Robert surprised Julia and popped the question. “We were having dinner in the house where we will eventually raise our kids. We were sitting at the dining room table, and Robert called out to his little 3-year-old niece and said, ‘Hey Sofi! Come bring me that present that I got for Julia!’ A second later, she waddled into the dining room holding a tiny box and handed it to him. He got down on one knee and gave me the best surprise of my life!”

Whether traveling the world together or sitting at home watching a Michigan football game, Julia & Robert absolutely love spending time together. Congratulations on your engagement, Julia & Robert!
