Well here you have it folks, the first of thirty weddings that you will see on the blog for twenty eleven. Spending the day with Chris and Valerie in Detroit was not only a blast, but it got me pumped up for the season to come. It was a beautiful day and their friends and family were a joy to hang out with. Congrats to the happy couple and may God bless your marriage!

I love the expressions in this photo. It’s like Ken is saying to Chris “She’s yours now, take care of my girl.”

The priest was teaching the crowd what “Amen” mean’t and when to say it. Pretty funny.

I knew that Rick and Sarah’s wedding was going to be a blast when I first met them for their engagement session nearly a year ago. The day started at the Marriott then we traveled around downtown Detroit to get some photos, then to Pontiac for the ceremony and reception at the Crofoot. Matt and I had a great time spending the day with this group. Congrats to the married couple and may God bless your marriage!

I cannot say enough about how much I love to take photographs in the big cities. So when Chris and Valerie asked us to come to Detroit to photograph their engagement session the answer was simple, CHA! We had so much fun hanging out with Chris & Valerie and hopefully we can see a catch a Tigers game with them this summer, otherwise we won’t see them till May of 2011 for their wedding!

The response for the “The Best of Weddings 2009″ Competition was incredible with over 1,000 total votes. So I thought it would only be right to have the same competition with engagements, and senior photos (next week) as well. Below I have selected two photographs from each engagement session that I personally LOVE! It was hard enough for me to choose the best two photographs from each engagement so I am leaving it up to you, your friends and family to vote for the set photographs you like the most. The polls will open today and will remain open until 11:59PM Friday February 12th so be sure to cast your vote within that time frame. The winner of the competition will receive a $50 gift certificate to the restaurant of their choice. It might make for a great Valentine’s Day dinner… On your mark, get set……….VOTE!

Detroit, MI Engagement Photos – Rick & Sarah

About a week ago Liz and I traveled down to Detroit to meet up with Rick and Sarah to photograph their engagement session. We started out on Bella Isle and then we headed over to the bar where they met to get some photos there. Liz and I really enjoyed hanging out with these two and it was fun seeing different parts of Detroit. We can’t wait till next year when we get to photograph their Fall wedding.
