“I knew that Alyssa was meant for me when I was lying awake, the night before graduating from the University of Illinois (a lifelong dream). I could not sleep, think, or do anything until I told her I loved her for the first time. Over the course of the years, many things have reaffirmed these emotions but that moment was the first time I could not imagine life without her.”
“I knew that Adam was meant for me when I was so anxious to tell him that I loved him. I wanted to be the first to share this with him because of how strongly I felt, but he beat me to it! Knowing that we both felt the same way and couldn’t wait to tell each other made the moment it happened even more special.”
Alyssa & Adam share an incredibly beautiful love. Their story began when they officially met at Information Night for their business fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi. And as the year progressed, they shared many interactions and run ins at the campus recreational facility and various social events, which eventually led to their dating.
Graduation. New jobs. An apartment in Old Town. Alyssa & Adam skillfully maneuvered significant life changes together, and soon they were about to embark on yet another: engagement and marriage.
It was Halloween night. Alyssa had had a long week at work. And Adam (having asked for the permission from Alyssa and Adam’s parents the previous week) could not wait any longer to propose. One of Alyssa & Adam’s favorite things to do is to stay in on a Friday night and relax in the living room with cheese and wine. So on this particular Halloween evening, Adam rushed home from work to clean the apartment and set it up with flowers, candles, cheese, wine and chocolate. He even hand wrote a letter (more like a short story!) on parchment paper documenting his version of their love story.
Alyssa had to stay at work later than expected. When she texted Adam that she was on the bus returning home, Adam walked over to the bus stop to wait for her arrival. Once they got into the apartment building in Old Town, Adam took Alyssa to the 42nd floor of their condo building, where they have a rooftop that overlooks the skyline of the City of Chicago. With a breathtaking view of the Chicago skyline and Lake Michigan as their background on a chilly October evening, Adam asked Alyssa to make him the happiest man in the world and marry him.
