Yes people do get married in the Winter up here in Northern Michigan. Was it cold? Yeah a little. Was it beautiful even though we’ve had an on and off Winter? Absolutely! Erika and Corey had a beautiful day with their close friends and family. I am filled with joy for these two and they kept Matt and I smiling the entire day. A happy couple makes me a happy photographer.

Matt & Kelsey had a beautiful wedding at the Field of FLowers in Leland, MI. Before heading to the ceremony, we met at The Old Art Building for these two to get a first look at one another. I love the moments that the first look opportunity creates because the bride and groom can express their true emotions instead of holding back due to formality. Kelsey did a fabulous job with the details and it suited the venue very well. It was great being able to spend the day with these two and may God bless their marriage!

Leland, MI Wedding Photography – Whit & Taylor

You are about to witness one of the most easy going, gorgeous and laid back weddings from the season. Whit and Taylor held their ceremony at the Leland Village Green and the reception to follow at The Riverside Inn in Leland, MI. Close friends and family made that night very special for these two and you could definitely sense the love in the air. Congrats to the happy couple and may God bless your marriage!

Whit’s grandma said to me afterward, “That was such a beautiful ceremony.” Indeed.

The reception site was only about a block away so we walked, took from photos, walked, took some photos, you get the idea.

After a long trip up from Illinois, these two were ready to get their photo on! Whit and Taylor were so much fun to hang out with and they had me laughing the entire time as we cruised around Leland. I’m looking forward to seeing this two again in July.

Luke and I have been friends since high school, so when I heard that he and Katie got engaged and wanted me to be part of their wedding day, I was pretty excited! Probably one of the last nice days Northern Michigan had to offer was during this session with the Adkins’ family in Leland, MI. It was amazing to see how much Alex has grown up in just one year. Still a darn cutie, that’s for sure. I look forward to seeing Alex next year!

This past weekend was my kick off to the twenty ten wedding season and I was so happy it was with Austin and Sierra’s wedding. The day was absolutely beautiful and the night at the Leland Lodge was a blast. Be prepared to see the movie booth from this gang later on, CRAZY! To the newlyweds, congratulations Austin and Sierra, Liz and I are overwhelmed with joy to know that God is going to be glorified through your marriage. What a blessing it is that He brought the two of you together and that you will be able to cherish one another forever in His name. We love you both and don’t forget about us over here in Michigan!

That is Matt on the right, my intern for the summer. He is going to be great to work with!

Below I have selected two photographs from each engagement session that I personally LOVE! It was hard enough for me to choose the best two photographs from each engagement so I am leaving it up to you, your friends and family to vote for the set photographs you like the most. WOW! Time and time again, I look back and I can only think how incredible the 2009 wedding season was. It was filled with awesome people, good times, great food and everlasting love. Liz and I are so fortunate to be in a occupation where we get to see love in its beginning stages meet the people we did this past wedding season.
