Yesterday I met up with Erika in Corey in Northport to photograph their engagement photos. Erika and Corey are both part of the Great Lakes Maritime Academy so we thought an aquatic theme would be appropriate for them. These two will be getting married next weekend so be sure to check to see their wedding photos!

Shawn & Lisa celebrated their marriage over Labor Day weekend and I don’t think it could have turned out any better than Lisa had planned it. Even though there was thunder and lightning when we arrived to start documenting the day, nothing was going to phase Lisa. It was a beautiful beach wedding with a great crowd, a nice start to the Labor Day wedding weekend. These two are such a fun and outgoing couple, it was a blast spending the day with them. May God bless their marriage!

Jon and Donna had a small intimate wedding with their close friends and family on a beach in Northport. These two did a wonderful job making all the details of their wedding very personal to them and very creative. Northport, MI Wedding Photography – Dan & Rachel

Wow the month of August cruised on by. A couple of weeks ago Matt and I spent the day with Dan & Rachel in Northport, MI at the Sunrise Landing Motel & Resort. This lovely place is owned and operated by Rachel’s parents and was a perfect place for a beach wedding. This small group was a delight to hang out with, not even a “little” rain could dampen the mood of this crowd. Congrats again Dan & Rachel, thanks for everything and God Bless your marriage!

Northport, MI Family Portrait Photography – The Gallagher Family

Over the weekend Liz and I met up with the Gallagher’s to photograph their family in Northport, MI at the tip of the pinky to the Northport Lighthouse. This Cecelia and Declan are SO darn cute and were a blast to photograph. When Liz and I were introducing ourselves to the kids, Cecelia asked us if I wanted to come over for dinner sometime, then she asked if she could come over as well. We’re going to take each other up on that sometime John and Rose!

Liz and I met up with Dan and Rachel in Northport, MI to photograph their engagement session at Peterson Park this past weekend. The sun is finally out up here in Northern Michigan and we took advantage of it’s warmth and beauty. All and all it was a great day to take photos of these high school sweethearts. Thanks Dan and Rachel for showing us a different side of Northport and we look forward to seeing you for your wedding in August!

The response for the “The Best of Weddings 2009″ and “The Best of Engagement 2009″ Competitions was incredible with over 2,000 total votes. Northport Winter Carnival 2010

Last weekend I made the drive up to Northport, MI to photograph the fun filled Winter Carnival. This event was packed with broomball, sledding, frozen milk jug curling, ice skating, live music, contests and free hot dogs. On a personal note, it has been quite sometime since I have documented an event like this. The last time was when I was working for the Jackson Citizen Patriot and photographed the Party in the Park back in 2008. It was fun being able to photograph something different and I look forward to all the fun events that are bound to come out of Northport in the next couple of years due to a very motivated friend of mine, go get em’ Gavin!

Northport, MI Senior Portrait Photos – Jordan

Last week I met up with Jordan and her Mom in Northport, MI at Northport Point to photograph her senior portraits. The one thing I love about traveling to Northport is the beautiful drive up there. You barely lose sight of the lakeshore and when you do, you are diving through orchards or plentiful greenery. So when Jordan told me see wanted her senior portraits in the pinky finger tip of Michigan, I was pumped. Jordan is a senior at Suttons Bay High School and is currently involved with Cross County, just like Chase. She plans on going to school at either Grand Valley State University or Alma College to study Health Communication. It amazes me sometimes that these seniors already know, or have an idea, of what they want to study. Me, not really, all I knew is that I wanted to do something with cameras. Have fun and enjoy your last year of high school Jordan.
