Over the weekend Elena and Andrew came up to Traverse City to get their engagement photos taken. When we scheduled the session a few months ago, I was hesitate of what the weather was going to be like in mid March. To our surprise, it was sunny and 80 degrees. I couldn’t believe it. Elena and Andrew will be tying the knot this July, be sure to come back then to see photos from their amazing Suttons Bay wedding.

I’ve been really bad at posting family portrait sessions on my blog this past year so I am catching up now. I will be posting them in reverse order so that you can remember what Summer was like. That way, you’ll have something to look forward to during these winter months!

Luke, Faye and Bella are a great family with a beautiful home. Bella is just 17 months with lots of energy and she’s one smart cookie! Their dog Keidis is so gentle with her, EVEN when we put a dog treat in Bella’s pocket.

Traverse City, MI Wedding // Aaron & Sarah

Well folks, this is the last wedding of the 2011 Summer season, what I like to call “The Regular Season”. It’s hard to believe that another year has passed, but it was truly an honor to be a part of twenty nine couples lives this summer.

Ever since I met Aaron & Sarah at Tim & Laura’s wedding last year, I’ve been excited to photograph their wedding. These two have so much love and joy in their relationship, they’re the kind of people that make your face hurt from smiling so much. I’m so happy that I got to know this family through the marriage of Tim & Laura and Aaron & Sarah. I could go on and on about how awesome this family is, but to sum it up, they’re just great. This wedding was definitely a great way for me to end the regular season. Congrats to the happy couple and may God bless your marriage.

Nate & Shawna are another lovely couple from Chicago that made their way to Traverse City from their engagement session. It was a great night with a beautiful couple, amazing light and Shawna rocked those high heels in the orchards, corn and hay fields. Oh the things I put my clients through. Can’t wait to see these two again next June!

Neil & Christine made a trip up from Chicago to come and have their engagement session with me up North. These two are so cute together and they were fun to hang out with. I’m excited that Christine found me on the internet and I’ll be photographing their wedding next year in Indiana! I’m definitely looking forward to the road trip!

Traverse City, MI Engagement Photography – Michael & Annalissa

I love this time of year for many reasons, but when the Cherry Blossoms are in bloom, that just seals the deal for me. Michael and Annalissa kept their grins from ear to ear as we roamed her family’s Cherry Farm on Old Mission Peninsula. I think it was contagious too because my face hurt a little bit after the session. These two were full of so much joy and love for each other, they’re perfect! You’ll be seeing these two again soon with an early June wedding!

*note to the Michael and Annalissa, thanks for not laughing to hard when I tripped over my stool… me=dork

The response for the “The Best of Weddings 2009″ Competition was incredible with over 1,000 total votes. So I thought it would only be right to have the same competition with engagements, and senior photos (next week) as well. Below I have selected two photographs from each engagement session that I personally LOVE! It was hard enough for me to choose the best two photographs from each engagement so I am leaving it up to you, your friends and family to vote for the set photographs you like the most. The polls will open today and will remain open until 11:59PM Friday February 12th so be sure to cast your vote within that time frame. The winner of the competition will receive a $50 gift certificate to the restaurant of their choice. It might make for a great Valentine’s Day dinner… On your mark, get set……….VOTE!

Traverse City, MI Engagement Photos – Tim & Laura

This past weekend we were out braving the cold Northern Michigan weather once again to photograph Tim and Laura’s engagement session out on Old Mission Peninsula. I definitely give credit to Tim and Laura, not only did they pick out some awesome locations, but we were trucking through some high snow in their casual dress shoes, BRRR. Thanks Tim and Laura for a great time and we look forward to seeing you two again this summer for your wedding.
