Bay Harbor Yacht Club Wedding | Kara + Matt

“My dad couldn’t even look at me at first trying to fight back the tears and when he did, I melted. As we stared walking and I was able to take in the beautiful church, the sound of the bagpiper, and the faces of all the people I love most, I found myself beaming and couldn’t be happier.”

Northern Michigan was a place Kara and Matt have always found to be a place where their friendship grows stronger, their hearts grow fonder, and life becomes a little better. Deciding to get married in Petoskey was an easy choice as they knew it would capture the beauty they love and turn their wedding day into a memory that would last forever. Matt and Kara were full of emotions the morning of the big day. Kara spent the time with her mom and bridesmaids, who helped take her mind off of everything for a little while. But, Kara found herself in tears every time she thought about how long she had dreamed of this day; the day her father would give her away and the day she had been imagining since she was little.

“I loved the first look as we were both extremely wound up with nerves, but the moment we saw each other they all seemed to melt away.”

Matt and Kara’s whole day was full of special moments like their first look, walking down the aisle,  and arriving to their reception by boat! After reading their vows to each other, their was a new level of excitement and love that made them more than ready to say “I do.” When the nerves faded away the day began to set in, Kara and Matt found themselves in the happiest moment of their lives. Following the ceremony, Matt and Kara embarked on a magical boat ride to their reception. As soon as they were on the boat, popping champagne, and enjoying a break from the busy day, they settled right into relaxation and pure joy. Looking into each other’s eyes, and soaking in all that had just happened.  Kara was ecstatic when their first dance was her most fun and “love-filled” dance of her life. Matt and her had plans to rehearse something special, but didn’t have time. However, when they began, their feet fell into harmony and it was as if Matt had twirled her a thousand times.

Their energetic, magical, and romantic day was nothing short of extraordinary.

Congratulations Matt and Kara! May God bless your marriage.
