Double K Estate Wedding | Laura + Chad

“I was trying to take in the whole moment and it was over in a flash. Chad looked very handsome. I was most nervous when the groomsmen and bridesmaids started walking down the aisle because I knew I was next, but again that went by so fast I wish I could rewind.”

Double K Estate, “It is a truly special location that is off the beaten path and intimate”. Laura and Chad wanted a venue that was truly Northern Michigan because many of their guest had never been. “Double K Estate is a blank canvas that allows you to create your own wedding, but the bones of it are breathtaking and truly Northern Michigan”.

Laura was surrounding by many friends and family the morning of their big day. “I had a hard time realizing that it was actually my wedding day. I was surrounded by friends and family so I was pretty calm until it was my time for hair and makeup”. During the morning, she saw Chad walking along the river with his brother and mom. Seeing him from afar sparked a little nerves, but a lot of excitement. “It was really exciting getting into my dress with my mom and sister’s help. I felt so elegant and like a bride. One of my friends made my veil (leffler and bellamy) and another good friend made my reception sneakers (who-leesa kicks) so having those custom, handmade touches were really meaningful to me especially when I put them on”. Chad spent the morning emerging himself in his surroundings. “I was nervous but surprisingly calm. Having all of our family there and being at the estate made it relaxing”.

Just like the morning, their day kept flying by. Laura and Chad remember the end of the day being so special because when they looked around, everyone they loved was under the same tent enjoying the time they got to spend together.”At one point on the dance floor I cried happy tears. I was just in aww how everyone genuinely loved being around each other and loved getting to know one another. Our first dance was also particularly extraordinary. It was just so fun and a way to connect in a different way. We could feel the love from everyone around us as they watched us dance. We loved our song so much that we couldn’t listen to it after the wedding without tearing up.”

Congratulations Laura and Chad! May God Bless your marriage.
