Traverse City Elopement | Sommer + Brett

Sommer and Brett eloped up in Northern Michigan in the beautiful town of Traverse City. In the heart of the city, there is a river that runs and this beautiful coupled vowed their love for one another on the dock over looking the waters. “Both Sommer and I were excited by the fact that we had fly fished on the Boardman River two days before we got married on its banks.”

As they look back on their beautiful day they remember the feelings of excitement but also the feeling of being calm. “We had planned an entire wedding in five days. We bought everything we needed after leaving Kentucky. There wasn’t time for deliberation over little details. First decisions proved to be the best and it made the day feel in a way serendipitous.”

The couple loved the charm of Traverse City and how everyone treated them while they were here. “I think we remember the kindness and enthusiasm of total strangers who were helping us prepare. We found a familiar hospitality we are used to in the south in the town of Traverse City.”

As their day was closing they got some time together on the dunes. “Exchanging our personal vows on the dunes overlooking Lake Michigan was perfect.” Brett said “Certainly being by the river right after getting married, I was overwhelmed with joy. It was also fun to dance, just a couple of turns on the dock and embarrass my bride just a little. It felt great to laugh with her.”
