“I knew Ryan was for me from the start. Everything seemed too good to be true. Over the first year of dating, as Ryan and I became best friends, I knew for certain that we would spend our lives together.”
“It’s hard to pinpoint one moment for me. I would say it was more of an accumulation of experiences and feelings where I realized I wanted Cait to continue always being right there with me, and I could not imagine going forward without her.”
Caitlin + Ryan spent their summers growing up at the same lake in Lewiston, MI. “My brother, Dan, and Ryan became friends as kids. One Fourth of July, we crossed paths at the town bar. We spent the rest of the week together, and haven’t looked back ever since. The lake remains our favorite place. A place to put everyday life on hold, and just be. We are thrilled to celebrate our marriage in the place where it began next September!”
Another special spot for Caitlin + Ryan is Traverse City so Ryan knew it would provide the perfect backdrop for a proposal. “Traverse City is one of our favorite spots. We have spent a plenty of time there over the past few years. We went to Traverse City for a fun end of summer day trip this Labor Day. After visiting a couple of wineries, Ryan suggested we go out to the lighthouse. There are several, private cove beaches out on the Mission Peninsula. We stopped at one of the beaches, and that’s where Ryan asked me marry him. It was just the two of us, and it was so intimate and sweet. Afterward, we celebrated in town for the night with our parents.”
You two are great together. Congrats on your engagement, Caitlin + Ryan!
