The Homestead Wedding | Lauren + Tommy
The Homestead Wedding location was incredibly close to Lauren’s heart. “Growing up in Leelanau County, I always knew I would marry my future husband here, at the Homestead, where I spent so many weekends as a kid going up and down these hills. Being able to share this place with Tommy over the past four years and now having all of our friends and family here to experience the beauty of Michigan, it was truly better than we could have ever dreamed.”
Tommy quickly shared in her dream. “Once I saw the view from the top of the mountain, I knew this would be the perfect place for Lauren and I to get married. It was so special, and we loved sharing it with family and friends who traveled near and far.”
On the morning of their wedding, Lauren found peace in the familiar surroundings. “I went down to my beach the morning of the wedding to write Tommy his letter, and I was overtaken by the calmness of the bay. I’ve sat right there, in that place on that sand, since I was four years old, dreaming of this day. And finally, here I was. Everything was at peace, the gentle sun still rising over the bay, and the calm waters hosting sailboats and kayakers. I knew the day would be magic, but this was again, better than I could have ever dreamed. Just a few short hours later, I would meet my Groom here for our first look! It was such a surreal experience and such a perfect setting to express to Tommy how much I loved him.”
When we asked what moments stuck out to them the most, Lauren’s response was, “We LOVED the dance floor! Everyone was having such a blast, and the Broom Closet Boys packed the dance floor. It was the best party! But personally, I loved the moments with Tommy, River, and I. Both at my Dad’s house and even walking down the aisle. All I could see was the two of them, and it was such a comforting feeling seeing them both so happy and so filled with joy. We were so proud of how great River was through the whole day!”
Tommy added, “Having our first look on the beach was so special. I also remember taking the chairlift up to the top of the hill as I was very nervous right before the ceremony, but it was such a relief to finally walk down the aisle with River and see my Bride.”
When asked to describe their day in three words, this sweet couple said, “perfect, fun, loving” and “so fun, so US, and so Leelanau!”
Congratulations, Lauren + Tommy! It was so much fun being a part of your Homestead Wedding day.
