For every couple, choosing a wedding venue is an individual experience. For Kate + Stewart, it was about bringing people together, reminiscing about their history, and celebrating their personalities. “We always knew we wanted to get married in a church, so that was an easy decision. Nubs Nob is home to Stewart, and it’s a very special place to me and my family since it’s where we all learned to ski. We wanted to get married in a place that has meaning to both of us and will be part of our future.”

Their wedding day was a perfect balance of joy and excitement. Stewart spent his morning feeling great. “I went waterskiing in perfect glass conditions with close friends, Kate’s father, and even our priest, Fr. Jim joined!”

Kate’s morning was everything she wanted it to be. “My sister and I jumped in Lake Michigan, which was a great way to start the morning! I was more emotional than I anticipated, and I think it’s because of all the love I felt. It was special to be surrounded by just family. The morning was exactly how I always wanted—easy, fun, peaceful, relaxed, and full of happy emotions.”

One of their favorite memories was taking the chairlift down the hill right into the reception. “It was special to have time alone, watching the reception, hearing the music, and feeling the excitement from guests. It felt like we were watching our wedding from a bird’s eye view.”

The couple was blessed with a miraculous September snowfall at Nub’s Nob Ski Resort, making their day even more magical.
