Morgan + Evan’s romantic story began in high school, but their first date took an unexpected turn when they were left alone by their two best friends. “We ended up having the best first date EVER, had a John Hughes movie-level first summer together, and have been together ever since,” Morgan recalls.

Their relationship faced its true test with four years of long distance. “Distance makes the heart grow fonder,” Morgan says. “The months apart, followed by MegaBus, Amtrak, plane, and car rides, only made our time together more special. From the very beginning, we made a commitment to each other and never wavered.”

Eventually, the distance came to an end, and they found their way back to each other, beginning a life together on common ground. After almost a year of feeling cooped up in their apartment, they planned a road trip to Vermont. “We stayed in a cozy cabin, went on snowy hikes, visited picturesque New England towns, and ate lots of maple syrup!”

A few days into their adventure, Evan proposed in the kitchen of the cabin. “It was just the two of us, and it was perfect. We kept it a secret for the rest of the trip and shared the news with Evan’s family on the way home. Then we told all of our extended family and friends once we were back in Chicago.”

For Morgan, Evan has always been the one. “Through all of life’s trials, he’s been my constant. I couldn’t imagine going through the next decades of my life without him. He is my missing puzzle piece, my best friend, and my adventure partner in life.”
