Tucked away on Lower Herring Lake, just off Lake Michigan in Arcadia, sits the Watervale Inn. A quiet and peaceful venue for Katie and Jon to stand before their loved ones and promise forever to each other. The morning of Katie and Jon’s wedding was relaxed and cozy. As scattered rain moved through in the early hours, both Katie and Jon enjoyed time getting ready with their family and friends. Katie spent her morning laughing with her girls, dancing in their matching socks, and preparing her heart for seeing Jon at the alter. Before leaving for the ceremony, Katie and her father shared a few moments together on the front porch. They shared a few more laughs, tears, and kisses before walking down the aisle together.

Minutes before the ceremony, the skies opened up and the rain came down. Holding the ceremony inside wasn’t the original plan but, the Watervale’s ‘casino’ building provided the perfect escape from the rain and place for Katie and Jon to say “I do.” Being surrounded by family and friends, Katie and Jon were nothing but smiles and a few happy tears while exchanging their vows. It was personal, full of authentic love, and inspiring to everyone in the room.

The celebration began with heartfelt speeches from a few of Katie and Jon’s favorite people. Laughing and crying together for the first time as man and wife, Katie and Jon enjoyed the company of their guests over a wonderful dinner. The party continued as the dance floor opened and the rest of the night was spent with the ones they love most, celebrating all that had been shared on the most memorable day of their lives. It was undeniable – how much Katie and Jon respect, cherish, and love one another. As their day came to a close, their favorite moments turned into memories – of their favorite day in the middle of June.
