When Tim called and told me to meet him in a parking lot so he could drive me 20 minutes down a sketchy dirt road to the ceremony site he discovered while fly fishing, I knew I was in for a fun day.
everyone gears up for the day differently. Tim recalls that, “It was a busy morning, Kathy driving with her parents from Ortonville to Gaylord to get her hair and makeup done (with a stop in Frankenmuth along the way for cupcakes!)” meanwhile, “Tim’s main focus was on catching some trout as a good omen for things to come. We were both so focused on making sure everything was exactly the way we wanted it. I think a lot of it was a distraction because we were so incredibly excited to get married and waiting was the last thing we wanted to do!”
Despite keeping busy, Kathy remembers, “Texting with Tim first thing in the morning, both so excited for the day and what was to come. I received so many well-wishes via text and facebook but just seeing my hair and makeup done made the day seem so real. As soon as I walked out of the salon, I just couldn’t wait to get to Grayling and see my groom. Of course actually seeing him as I turned the corner to the chapel will be an image I will never, ever forget.”
Wedding days are full of unforgettable moments (for everyone!). For Tim, “Seeing Kathy as my bride to be, I kept wondering when she would turn the corner and the anticipation was a lot to handle. The perfect weather we enjoyed was everything we could ask for, the first fish of the day, and the taste of the champagne after are some of my other more favorable memories of the day. Spending time with our families together and simply enjoying ourselves.” When we asked Kathy, she said, “it was driving into the middle of nowhere with my parents. The two-track drive was so nerve-wracking knowing that Tim was there waiting for me. There were so many emotions in that time; excitement to show my parents the places that Tim and I love and spend so much time, to marry the man that I love more than anything in the entire world, to see him all dressed up, to spend time with our family along the river, to hear the beautiful words I knew his dad had written for us, and that I somehow navigated us to the spot with minimal direction… I was completely overwhelmed with excitement.”
Kathy & Tim are two people that I will never forget. They are strong willed, level headed, and seem to always be thinking of others. Congratulations Kathy & Tim. I could NOT be happier or more excited for you both.
