“It was the moments in which it felt like time was suspended that really stand out, like when my sisters helped me get dressed and when Will and I left the reception to take pictures on the beach”.

Alex & Will turned their big day into a vacation for their friends and family at Camp Firefly at The Homestead. These two were drawn to the rustic feeling and how intimate it had felt. Which looking back is exactly how Alex described their wedding day, “intimate, emotional whirlwind”. These three words were the ones that came to mind for the bride.

Will spent the morning keeping his groomsman on schedule so everything ran smoothly “The whole morning I was mostly concerned with making sure the groomsmen and I were in the right place at the right time. I didn’t have time to think about the wedding until I was actually at the altar”. “There were a few moments that stand out, like seeing Alex for the first time that day. The toasts and the dances were also really special; they had me choking up”. “The content of the speeches very much fit with the personalities of the people who gave them. It was amazing to hear people who are special to me describing how they perceived our relationship”.

Alex could not wait to get the day started the morning of. “I had spent so much time that past two years planning the wedding that I was ready to stop thinking about it and start experiencing it” which was obvious during the ceremony. “I was so emotional, especially during Will’s vows. He wrote the most beautiful sonnet. It brought me right back to when he had proposed, also with a sonnet he had written. They just get me!”

The day ended beautifully and Will could not explain is any other way other than it was a “light- speed extravaganza”.
