Homestead Resort Wedding | Katy + Devin

Katy had lots of little moments and memories surrounding their wedding venue, making it just right for their wedding celebration. “The Venue was a big deal for us because this is an area, firstly, that Katy visited multiple times a year as a kid. She had wonderful memories in Glen Arbor and specifically The Homestead. When we first visited The Homestead as a couple there was an immediate feeling of HOME, comfort and adventure. Plus, this venue is beautiful. Set in nature with views that people will forever remember.” There were some hiccups in the wedding planning arena the week before, leaving Katy somewhat anxious for the actual day. “Within the first hour of being awake though, Devin and I had planned to spend some alone time together and took a walk around Brook Hill and Firefly. As soon as I saw Devin, all my nerves and worries immediately washed away. I was instantaneously reminded of what this day was truly about – the unconditional love I have for my best friend and the unconditional love and support I feel from him in return. Once we were done having our alone time, I felt so extremely relaxed and comfortable as the morning went on. Things seemed to work themselves out, and the morning flew by as I was getting ready with my closest friends and family, sharing so much joy, happiness and love.” The time had finally come for their first look. “The moment I saw Katy in her dress was a huge moment. I had been trying to figure out what her dress looked like because her and her friends kept talking about fluffing the dress. I couldn’t stop thinking about a huge tutu on her on our wedding day!! When I saw what they meant by “fluffing” and how beautiful the dress was, I remembered my gal has damn good style! Also, the ceremony…Once the ceremony started I became emotional and then started to lose track of time. Then came our vows and I saw how different yet perfect of a match we are. But it wasn’t until I fumbled up the words in the vows when I heard the triplets screaming in laughter and the audience chuckling that I found the peace and realization that this was going to be the best day of my life.” After having an eventful amount of plans not working out, Katy shares how grateful she was for the people that helped make their fairytale day come to life. “From the team at the Homestead to our florist to our band to our wedding planner of six days – we felt as if each one of these individuals were just as excited for our special day as we were which was so incredible to experience.”

It was a breathtaking, heartwarming, and exhilarating day; and according to Devin “a wedding worth crashing”. Congratulations to the lovely couple!
