Peninsula Room Wedding | Lydia + Joseph

Lydia and Joseph were able to stick close to her roots for their wedding day. “We loved that the Peninsula Room was right across the bay from where I grew up in Suttons Bay. The trees and water view at the ceremony site were just stunning. We were also really drawn to their great food and partnerships with local farms, breweries, and wineries.” The location truly was breathtaking and gave so many opportunities for beautiful photos.

Lydia woke up “so excited and ready to be married, and so nervous for the event itself! So much time and energy and preparation goes into creating that one day, and you want it to be perfect. But on the actual day, I didn’t care as much about the little details – though they were beautiful. I was nervous for the ceremony, and honestly forgot some of the words for a second, but right after it was over, I just felt excited and happy to have so many of my friends and family together in a place that I love to celebrate with us!” Joseph was “definitely very excited about the whole experience. You never know how you’re going to feel until the actual day arrives, and I personally thought I would be really nervous throughout the day. When the time came, I was just happy to be together and was excited to be surrounded by family and friends.”

Their families and friends had a large impact on their wedding day. Lydia said, “My dad’s speech killed me. He told a favorite family story of how he and my mom met and what it meant to him to find her and have me, and it was just so sweet and moving. Throughout the day, I was so moved by how amazing our friends and family are – so many people helped so much to make the day happen, and it was overwhelming. I am so grateful!” Joseph echoed that sentiment. “Hearing everyone’s speeches was really special. I also loved looking around at the crowd during our ceremony and seeing all of the people that had travelled so far to show their support and share such a special day with the two of us.”

Overall, Lydia and Jospeh described their wedding day as, “dreamy, exciting, joyful” and “fun, beautiful, memorable.” We agree wholeheartedly. Congratulations, Lydia and Joseph!
