Although small, Charlevoix has a distinct character all its own. As a wedding photographer, it’s easy to see why so many couples dream of a wedding here. To make your search a little easier, I’ve listed some of my favorite wedding venues in Charlevoix, MI and the surrounding areas.
Keep in mind that Castle Farms is the only non-barn wedding venue option directly in Charlevoix. The rest are simply nearby!
Castle Farms

Situated in the heart of Charlevoix, Castle Farms is one of the most iconic venues in Northern Michigan for good reason (however, you can see a list of the others here). The regal air of this location is one-of-a-kind thanks to stone facades and formal manicured gardens that adorn the property. Inspired by the medieval stone chateaus of Normandy, France, this castle venue offers several ceremony and reception spaces expertly arranged by venue coordinators. From sprawling courtyards and pristine water features to stately great halls, this early 20th-century estate has no shortage of picturesque scenery.
Bay Harbor Yacht Club
20 minutes from Charlevoix
As the largest waterfront venue in the Petoskey area, the Bay Harbor Yacht Club can host grand soirees of up to 500 guests. Still, the setting feels intimate with its exclusive location on Lake Michigan as a private club. The stone exterior and abundance of natural light set the stage for a sophisticated lakefront celebration backdropped by graceful sailboats and grand yachts swaying in the distance. Exchange vows on the Promenade Dock overlooking the water, then share a champagne toast on the Lange Terrace as the sun sets. And for a truly grand entrance (or exit), arriving by yacht is always an option here.
The Perry Hotel

The Perry Hotel is a venue that perfectly balances vintage charm with lakeside elegance. In the heart of downtown Petoskey, this historic hotel has overlooked Little Traverse Bay for more than 122 years, offering both the quaint appeal of a small town and the luxury of sweeping lake views. Personally, I love the way this location flows between indoor and outdoor spaces — the Rose Garden Veranda and conservatory incorporate nature’s beauty while the ballroom’s connecting porch allows guests to take in the golden sunset views. Bay View Weddings at Gallagher Farms

As a working cherry farm and distillery, Bay View Weddings At Gallagher Farms offers one of the most picturesque views on this list. Combining the charm of a farm-style venue with the beauty of a lakeside view, you get the best of both worlds here. Overlooking Grand Traverse Bay atop a hill, this property has over 400 acres of land and has a rich family history. The wide open space is ideal for tented receptions in the spring and summertime, with the surrounding cherry trees creating a one-of-a-kind ambiance.
